Living in Leo-Cedarville Indiana [VLOG TOUR]

Dave Brough:
Hey, what’s up, everybody! Today, I’m in the Leo-Cedarville area and I am going to give you a little tour of this beautiful little town center that’s just on the northeast side of Allen County, Fort Wayne! I talk all about what it’s like to eat, sleep, play, work in the Fort Wayne area. So if you’re thinking about moving to Fort Wayne, please reach out to me. I want to be your resource, your guide to the local Fort Wayne real estate market. And I want to help you any way I can.

The Leo-Cedarville township area has seen a lot of growth recently. It’s like a country town, but development has really come out here quite a bit.  Here’s some things that you can do for fun out here:

  • Metea County Park is a pretty good size park with a pavilion that you can rent out! (I actually had a family member who had a wedding here)
  • In the woods is a little winding river called Cedar Creek, which I would say is probably the cleanest creek, or body of water in our area. It’s great for fishing! You can do a lot more things in this river than the other rivers in Fort Wayne.
  • Metea Park North has really nice trails, and a place called Riverside Gardens. This park has grown quite a bit, so now there’s a splash pad, a river water feature, pavilions, bathrooms, a pretty large boat launch area, a reservoir, and some sand volleyball courts. There’s a lot of river-type recreation that goes on around here!
  • Downtown Leo has an elementary school and a high school, which I would say is the top rated high school in the East Allen County school system, with between 1300 and 1500 students. There’s also a cute little park that has a fun playground area right in the middle of the city center.

One of my favorite neighborhoods in the Leo-Cedarville area is Metea Valley, which has some nice, well-built homes, just outside of town. Another favorite would be Lakes of Leo Creek. Right now it looks like a field, but there is a subdivision being developed with some new construction. Home values in this area are a lot higher than the rest of the Fort Wayne area. The average sale price is around $330,000, and the average home price in all of Fort Wayne is $185,000. So, it’s a substantially higher cost of living out here, but I think a lot of that is due to the really nice homes that are blanketed throughout the area.

Cedar Creek is a fantastic little subdivision that sits right next to the Cedar Creek Golf Course. For shopping and conveniences, there are not a lot of major retail or grocery stores in the immediate area, but they are building a Meyer close by. You’ll be able to hop on 69 straight from Union Chapel road now, so you’ll get there in a matter of minutes.

Leo-Cedarville is in a really good spot, and it’s growing pretty quickly like most other places in our area. If it’s something that you’re interested in, come check it out! Just give me a call and I’d be happy to show you around. If I can be a resource for you in anything that has to do with real estate or getting to know Fort Wayne, don’t hesitate to reach out to me.
