If you’re planning to sell in 2021, you must do these three things before putting your home on the market:
- Get a pre-listing home inspection. There are many benefits to getting your house inspected before it hits the market, including providing more certainty to buyers, which often translates into higher offers.

2. Price your home correctly. We’re in an extreme seller’s market, which means there isn’t enough inventory to meet the buyer demand. That means sellers have plenty of leverage, but you can still overprice your property, and we see it happen quite a bit. When you overprice your home, you usually won’t get many showings, and you won’t receive multiple offers. You might also end up selling the house for less than if you priced it properly from the onset.
3. Stage your home properly. Before buyers even step foot into your home, they’ll be seeing it online, which is the first real showing, so staging is crucial. Along with staging comes depersonalizing and decluttering.
